EMDRIA Regional Network Search for volunteers

Hello EMDR Therapist,

EMDRIA Southern Maine Network is undergoing some changes. As you may know, one of our founding committee members, Jane McCarty has died. In addition, 3 volunteers have decided to end their volunteer position and we need help to continue providing an EMDR community.

EMDRIA Southern Maine Network has been in existence for about 16 years offering EMDR professional development CEU workshops for EMDR trained therapist at least two times per year and to build an EMDR supportive community. Through the years the network has been lead by Celia Grand, LCSW and many other local therapists who have volunteered their time to help organize and execute these events. Celia will be stepping down and Scott Morse will be taking over the helm but only with your help. There are some exciting new ideas to refresh the EMDR community with more than CE presentations. Some of the ideas is to have a day long CE presentation 1x per year with 2-3 other meetings with a topic and / or case presentations with a consultation panel to help integrate case presentations. For example: topic, “working with refugees” or “working with veterans”.

EMDRIA Southern Maine Network is moving toward a new generation of sustainability. It is critical that new volunteers help at this point not to risk this valuable resource for the EMDR community.

We are looking for volunteers to fill the following positions:

Logistics volunteer: Fill out CE application

Registration volunteer: process registrations before and on the day of the event.

We now have a pod of 3 volunteers who are working on other aspects of the network. It is critical that we have folks willing to volunteer a little bit of their time to sustain the EMDR community. If you are interested, please email Celia Grand at grand@celiagrand.com and Scott Morse at morsecounseling@gmail.com.

Lastly, a therapist called looking for an EMDR peer group. He was told he would have to organize it. If you are interested in joining a free peer group, contact: Joel Lavenson at 689-8004 and joel@imagotherapist.com

thank you for your time and consideration.
